Cleer Software respects your privacy and aims to keep the way we handle personal data simple and transparent. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and how we protect it.

When you create and use a Cleer account, we may collect:

Passwords are stored in a protected form and are not stored as readable passwords.

Shipment and Customer Data

Cleer allows customers to upload and process information relating to shipments and their recipients. This may include recipient names, addresses, email addresses, shipment IDs, purchase order numbers, delivery dates, SKUs, quantities and images.

This information is provided by our business customers for the purpose of operating their delivery processes. In these circumstances, the business customer is generally responsible for determining why the information is processed, while Cleer processes it on the customer's behalf.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have the appropriate legal basis and permissions to provide this information to Cleer.

We use personal data only where necessary to:

Payments

Paid subscriptions may be processed through Stripe. Where services such as custom development are provided separately, Cleer may issue invoices directly.

Payment card details are handled by the applicable payment provider and are not stored directly by Cleer.

Cookies

Cleer uses only the cookies or similar technologies necessary for the operation and security of the service, such as maintaining a device or station session.

We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural tracking cookies.

Service Providers

We may use trusted service providers to operate parts of the service, such as hosting, payment processing and infrastructure.

Our application is hosted using PythonAnywhere. Where service providers process personal data on our behalf, we expect them to provide appropriate security and data protection safeguards.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy or where we are legally required to keep it.

When an account is deleted or becomes eligible for removal, Cleer currently intends to run a cleanup process after approximately 30 days and remove the associated account and service data.

Some information may need to be retained for longer where required by law, for example for accounting or legal purposes.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or destruction.

However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your GDPR Rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data. You may also have rights to object to certain processing and to receive your data in a portable format.
